A moon is a body or SATELLITE that orbits a
PLANET. They are generally small and
cratered, this is due to them having very
little or no ATMOSPHERE to destroy metotites
as they hit their surface. There are some
moons that are very different, such as IO and
EUROPA both moons of Jupiter. IO is
constantly alive with volcanoes while Europa
is a large iceball which could support life.
On the 5th March 1998, NASA announced that
they have discovered water/ice at the base
of the Earth's moon.
